The setting of strategy and direction of Calico, and the monitoring of our performance, is undertaken by a Board that consists of nine members – eight independents and one tenant.

The Board meets six weekly to consider Calico business.

John Inglesfield – John is Chair of the Board and is also a member of the Group Audit Committee. As Head of Social Housing Lending at Yorkshire Building Society, John brings significant housing management, development, financial and risk management knowledge.

Karen Ainsworth – Karen is SafeNet’s nominee member to the Board and is also a member of the Group Remuneration Committee. As Manager of the East Lancashire Mediation Service – SMILE – Karen brings strategic focus and significant customer service experience.

Peter Bevington – Peter is the Vice Chair of the Board. Peter is a freelance housing consultant who has worked on housing and regeneration programmes across the country. He brings extensive experience of community engagement and tenant participation.

Gemma Dyson

Gemma Dyson – Gemma has been a member of the Calico Homes Board since January 2011. As Bid Manager for Forrest, Gemma brings an understanding of procurement, development and planned maintenance within the housing sector, and extensive experience of working with registered providers and local authority partners.

Adam Greenhalgh

Adam Greenhalgh – Adam is a member of the Board. As Business Manager at Six Town Housing, Adam brings experience of tenancy management and customer engagement, particularly in supporting customers through welfare reform.

Nickie Hallard – Nickie is a member of the Board.  As Director of Resources and Deputy Chief Executive at Rochdale Boroughwide Housing, she has considerable experience in social housing, finance, HR and other support services and provides inspirational leadership and support to her colleagues.  In addition she is a qualified accountant and brings experience from other sectors, including retail and financial services.

Andrew Mullen – Andrew is a member of the Board and is also a member of the Group Audit Committee. As a Litigation Partner and Head of the Dispute Resolution department for Lockett Loveday McMahon, Andrew brings considerable legal expertise and an understanding of customers.

Stuart Shaw

Stewart Shaw – Stewart is a member of the Board. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Housing and a member of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH).  Stewart has spent some 40 years working in housing, regeneration and environmental protection, and has worked for five Local Authorities.

Stewart has run his own housing and management consultancy business since 2001. As a member of 25 years standing of the International Federation of Housing and Planning (IFHP), he was elected to the Federation’s Managing Council in 2014, and has been Chair of its International Housing Network since 2012.

Christina Yates – Christina is a member of the Board. Christina is a Calico tenant and former sheltered housing warden who has completed our Calico Academy programme. Christina has substantial experience of providing customer focused services.
