Top employer The Calico Group is proud to welcome three exciting new members to its award-winning HR team.

With a mix of commercial, charitable and not-for-profit experience between them, Calico’s new line-up is aiming to get the business ready for continued growth across the North.

Louise Rance and Jenny Taylor join the team as HR Business Partners, and Sarah Foster will take up the role of HR Advisor.

Louise joins Calico from her previous role as HR Advisor at Great Places Housing Group, and has also worked previously as HR Officer for the National Probation Service and Manchester United Football Club.

Louise said:

“I’m really excited to start working at Calico. I really wanted to work there as I feel Calico’s values match my own, and the company really wants to make a real difference.

“It’s great to work for an innovative organisation that supports and appreciates the hard work of its staff, and whose focus is on ‘profit for purpose’.

“As a team, I think we will all work well together, and that our backgrounds will all complement each other’s.”

Jenny, who previously worked for Euro Garages Ltd as HR Manager, said:

“Calico seems to really value its staff, and wants to invest and develop people. I feel really positive about Calico’s values and the support working environment. Calico really recognises that it’s the people that make a difference.

“This will also be a learning opportunity for me; my background is in the commercial sector, so it will be interesting to work in a totally different side of HR. It’s exciting to be a part of something new.”

Prior to joining Calico, Sarah Foster worked for HomeSafe as a standalone HR Officer dealing with high volume case work, and as a Graduate HR Administrator for WSP, one of the world’s leading engineering professional services consulting firms.

Sarah said:

“Calico is a really engaging and innovative company and it really suits my personality.

“Like Jenny, I have a more commercial background. A lot of my previous work was more reactive than proactive but Calico will give me more time to be proactive and focus on developing myself.”

Welcoming her new team members, Katie Willan, Calico’s Head of HR, said:

“Calico’s HR team is evolving, and we are about to introduce a new HR system that will help our work become much slicker.

“The breadth experience and knowledge that Louise, Jenny and Sarah bring will help us move from transactional to transformational HR, and will allow us to do things in a much quicker and smarter way.

“This feels like the start of something good.”
