Calico Homes proudly celebrates a year of community engagement in their largest ever development, Dovestone Gardens. The £21 million development will be Burnley’s first extra care facility offering 90 apartments for individuals aged 55 and over with specific support needs.
For the past year, Calico Homes has been actively listening to and involving customers through various events to share their thoughts on Dovestone Gardens. The feedback of customers has played a pivotal role in shaping the development. Customers have had the chance to have an input into the bistro offer to signage around the facility.
There have also been two events held at the Prairie Sports Village which all partners involved in Dovestone Gardens were present to discuss their role in the development. Calico Homes are working with a range of partners on Dovestone Gardens including: Burnley Leisure and Culture, Participation Works, Ring Stones Maintenance and Construction, Syncora Care, Brock Carmichael, East Lancashire Health Trust, Hoare Lea and Identity Consult.
There will be more opportunities in the coming 12 months for customers to have further input into Dovestone Gardens, with monthly consultations taking place at venues across Burnley.
Hayley Robinson, Housing with Care Project Lead at Syncora Care: ‘We’re delighted to celebrate a year of speaking to customers about Dovestone Gardens. The feedback we have received so far has been vital in shaping the development and ideas moving forward.
We have had a lot of people really engaged and feedback on how fun the sessions have been. It’s been great to build relationships with customers who may potentially be residents at Dovestone Gardens.
There will be more opportunities for people to get involved, if you’re interested, please get in touch.’
