Calico Homes will reopen and manage Burnley Wood Community Centre following the approval of a license agreement with Burnley Council.
The community centre located on Springfield Road, will reopen to the public once renovation work is complete and in line with current covid-19 guidance, creating a safe space for the community.
Our Community Investment Team will look at how they can best meet the needs of the neighbours by utilising the centre accordingly, through a range of cultural, educational, and social activities, encouraging the community to come together and help prevent social isolation.
Ring Stones Maintenance and Construction will also be using the multi-purpose centre as a base whilst working on the Empty Homes scheme in the area. This restoration scheme converts derelict, empty properties into safe, affordable homes.
Alicia Foley, Community Investment Manager at Calico Homes said of the agreement, “Our work within the community centre will be a positive step forward in the development of Burnley Wood and its success as a place where people are proud to live and realising their potential. We are looking forward to seeing and working with local people to make the centre a success in the future.”
