We know the people who live in a neighbourhood are often the people with the best ideas about how to improve it.
That’s why we’ve created the Community Investment Fund.
The fund gives Calico Homes customers the opportunity to apply for funding for small projects that improve shared spaces where they live. Whether it’s brightening up a communal garden, creating a growing space, tackling fly-tipping or making an outdoor area more welcoming, we want to hear your ideas.
Rather than choosing from a list of pre-selected projects, you can tell us what matters in your community and what improvements you’d like to see.
If you’ve got an idea that could make your neighbourhood a better place to live, we’d love to hear from you.
Who can apply?
The fund is open to Calico Homes customers.
If you need help developing your idea or completing an application, support is available.
What can the fund support?
We’re looking for projects that improve shared spaces and benefit the wider community.
Examples include:
- Improving communal gardens
- Community planting projects
- Growing spaces
- Benches, planters and noticeboards
- Community clean-ups and litter-picking initiatives
- Improvements to recycling areas
- Projects that help deter fly-tipping
- Health and wellbeing initiatives
Improvements that make shared spaces cleaner, greener and more welcoming
These are just examples. If you have a different idea that would benefit your community, we’d still like to hear about it.
What can’t be funded?
The fund cannot support:
- Improvements to private gardens or individual homes
- Routine repairs or maintenance
- Projects on land not owned or managed by Calico Homes
- Large-scale play equipment or playgrounds
- Projects that cannot be completed within 12 months of funding being approved
Applying is easy
You don’t need a detailed project plan and you don’t need to complete a perfect application.
If you have an idea, we’ll help you develop it.
You can:
- Complete the online application form
- Download and return a paper application
- Send us a video explaining your idea
- Visit one of our offices and speak to us in person
- Arrange an appointment with a member of the team
- Ask us to visit you if you’re unable to travel
