We’ve invested more than £5m into a 34-unit development in the Gannow area of Burnley.
Homes England provided more than £1.4m funding specifically for the project, which will help to meet growing demand for this specific type of housing in the area.
Construction on Sycamore Ave started on 14 June 2021 and will create a mixture of new homes available for affordable letting.
The land has laid derelict for a number of years and had been branded an eyesore by locals, while also attracting bouts of anti-social behaviour. The development will create a new neighbourhood and offer high quality homes in a desirable area.
The project will create a mixture of 1 and 2 bed apartments, 2 and 3 bed houses, and 1 and 2 bed cottage flats. All homes will benefit from allocated parking spaces, landscaping and gardens, with the ground floor apartments featuring level access showers.
In redeveloping this site, we continue on our mission to continually invest in the local community, and renovating existing properties, providing customers with a positive place to live, and helping make a real difference to people’s lives.
This is due to complete in December 2022.
Wendy Malone, Director of Development at Calico Homes, says, “I’m pleased that we’re able to start work on the site, continuing to build homes for people who need them and using the land in such a positive way.”
