Bistro at Dovestone Gardens – Tender opportunity
Do you want to be a part of Burnley's first extra care facility?
Dovestone Gardens is a £21m new build extra care facility with 93 apartments, currently under construction on Briercliffe Road, Burnley.
Within the extra care facility, we have an allocated space on the ground floor for a ‘stand-alone’ bistro facility connected to a community wellbeing hub.
We are looking for a provider to deliver the food and beverage offer in the Bistro area as a commercial operation.
Creating a welcoming environment
The ambition for the Bistro at Dovestone Gardens is to create a welcoming, vibrant hive of activity where people feel energy and sense purposeful activity. We want to create a social space where interaction and connection are encouraged – discussion between friends; parent and child groups; and business meetings all co-exist.
Providing a space for the community
The Bistro at Dovestone Gardens will have the community at its heart.
The site will provide access to:
- The residents living in the 93 homes in the scheme, and their friends and families.
- Around 2,500 East Lancashire Hospital NHS Trust staff operating on the site.
- Visitors to the hospital site.
- The 6,680-resident population within a 0.5-mile radius of the site.
Licensing Expectations
We will be required at the Bistro:
- The bistro has available business hours of 8am until 9pm and can be open seven days a week. Opening times will be at the discretion of the licensee.
- We expect the facility to be open between the hours of 11am and 3pm each day as a minimum.
- There is an expectation that a minimum service will be provided to our extra care residents enabling at least one warm meal to be purchased daily.
- Ability to support dietary requirements of Calico Homes customers where food is a consideration of care planning activity.
- A ‘grab and go’ food offer to be provided on site.
- Within 12 months of licence commencement a delivery service for staff within the Hospital Estate.
