Calico Homes is considering Melrose Avenue, Hargher Clough, as a site for 30 potential new homes for local residents.
Residents have been asked to give their opinions at an early consultation event before any plans are submitted.
The proposals will be shown at the event on Tuesday 29th November, 3:00-6:30pm, at Venice Street Community Centre, where there will be a chance for local residents to discuss the plans in more detail with Calico staff.
The proposed plans include 30 units, a mix of two and three bedroom houses and a bungalow.
Work on site would take approximately twelve months and, pending planning approval, could commence as soon as March 2017.
Funding for the proposed development will come from the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) and is aimed at meeting local need for quality accommodation.
The plans follow Calico’s £1.6million improvements to the appearance and insulation of existing properties in the Hargher Clough area, and the completion of Primrose Mill in Briercliffe, Calico’s first new development in Burnley.
Improvement works are ongoing across other Calico estates.
Gary Rooke, Calico’s Development Project Manager, said:
“At Calico, we are committed to providing good quality homes that people in the area can afford to live in.
“Melrose Avenue is an area we want to invest in, and these brand new houses will perfectly complement the recent renovation work our Investment team have carried out in the community.
“It’s vitally important that local residents are involved in any development process, and we are keen to work alongside them to ensure they can have their say on any decisions that will affect them.”
