Calico Homes has completed work on 34 properties for older people in Padiham to improve their energy efficiency.
The bungalow properties on Westview Terrace have had roof coverings replaced, along with new fascias and soffits to ensure properties are weatherproof in preparation for winter.
Carried out by Ring Stones Maintenance and Construction, the work has also involved removing and reinstalling PV panels. This boosts the energy efficiency of the homes by restoring and extending the life span of the solar panels.
The work on Westview Terrace started over the summer and tenants are seemingly pleased with the work carried out.
The project is part of Calico Homes’ five-year investment commitment, which will see over £25 million spent improving on homes across Burnley and Padiham.
The ongoing investment works are targeting areas that have been identified by customers. The improvement will also contribute towards the energy performance of homes and reduce energy costs as bills continue to increase.
Vicki Webb, Managing Director at Calico Homes said: “We are delighted to have completed work on Westview Terrace ahead of the winter period. This work will help make homes more energy efficient and help to reduce bills for our tenants”.
She continued: “We have received some great feedback from tenants on the quality of work the team has carried out on their homes. Lots of customers told us what their priorities are, and we knew this was much needed work and will make a huge difference to people’s lives. There is always more we can do, and we are committed to listening to our customers and making improvements where we can.”
