Calico Homes have been invited onto the Pennine Community Safety Partnership Group to take local action and be the voice of residents in tackling serious violence in communities in Burnley.
The Partnership is taking action as part of Serious Violence Duty which came into place in January 2023 to help local authorities across the UK to prevent and reduce violence in communities.
Calico Homes will be working with other agencies and organisations in the area to collaboratively address complex problems and develop long term sustainable solutions.
As a member of the group, the Community Safety team will attend regular meetings and discuss issues in the area from a Calico Homes perspective and give a commitment on what Calico Homes’ actions are.
Calico Homes are continuing work as part of long-term plan to allow customers to lead and have their say on what happens in their communities.
Dawn Cardwell, Head of Neighbourhoods at Calico Homes said: ‘We want people to feel safe and happy within their communities and have their opinions heard on what issues matter to most to them.
We are delighted to be part of the Pennine Community Safety Partnership Group and to work with local partners in the area to tackle issues of serious violence.
