Calico Homes’ Community Safety team achieved success in Burnley Crown Court addressing issues of anti-social behaviour to create safer communities in Burnley.
The team handled three separate Breaches of Injunction cases, all resulting in guilty verdicts with one individual sentenced to four months in prison due to the severity of their ongoing behaviour. The next steps are for Calico Homes to apply for possession of these properties.
These successful outcomes outline Calico Homes’ commitment to make sure that neighbourhoods and the wider communities across Burnley are safe places where people want to live. Calico will always work with partner agencies to resolve anti-social behaviour by using a variety of tools and interventions and taking possession of a property is always a last resort.
Over the past few months, Calico Homes’ have been proactive in addressing various issues in neighbourhoods from anti-social behaviour to prevention of tenancy fraud and Injunctions, ensuring that residents can live peacefully, and homes are available for those who need them.
Dawn Cardwell, Head of Neighbourhoods at Calico Homes said: “The outcomes of these injunctions show the continued hard work and dedication of the Community Safety team.
We’re proud of the work we are doing in our neighbourhoods which is having an impact on the wider community. We want people in our communities to be happy in their neighbourhoods and encourage anyone to report any issues.”
