As part of our new customer strategy, we are ensuring that our customers are at the forefront of our decision making. We understand how important it is to our customers that the communities they live in are happy and safe. We don’t always get things right, but we are always looking for ways to develop and improve.
It has been a year since we introduced our Community Safety Team. At a time when customer satisfaction regarding ASB related cases was at 28.57% , customer satisfaction is now at 69.94%. It’s a step in the right direction but we know there’s still a lot to do.
The Community Safety Team was introduced to resolve anti-social behaviour but also to prevent it from happening in the first place to improve our communities. The harm centred approach the team takes means we’re constantly assessing the harm that the behaviour is causing and the risk that the harm causes. We can then decide on which tools available to us are most effective to use.
We have developed good working relationships with organisations in our communities including Lancashire Constabulary, Burnley Council and a range of support agencies. Developing relationships has allowed us to understand current issues in our area and build trust with our residents.
A large part of our work is providing support through our support agencies to make sure our customers have the right support in place whether that be the cause or the subject of anti-social behaviour. We want to understand the underlying root cause of each case so long term, we can resolve the behaviour issues and improve our customers’ wellbeing.
We are continuing to look at ways to improve and be transparent about the way we do things. We want our residents to be happy in their neighbourhoods. We will be making visits to our communities, speaking to residents to about any issues in the area. Working with local organisations, we will continue to raise awareness around anti-social behaviour and resolve issues in our communities.
Thursday 6th July, we will be at Burnley Together Down Town, doing a meet and greet with customers who will have the opportunity to meet the Community Safety Officers in their areas.
If you are experiencing any anti-social behaviour problems in our communities, please contact us on 01282 686300 to speak to our Community Safety Team.
