We have now completed the final phase of a £10m project to create a total of 67 new affordable homes in Padiham.
Phase Three of the Station Road development began in August 2019 and was finalised last week, marking the completion of the wider project as we welcomed new residents into their homes.
This last phase has provided an additional 26 general needs affordable homes, consisting of 1x 3 bed house, 3x 2 bed houses, 11x 1 bed ground floor cottage flats and 11x 2 bed first floor cottage flats.
The Station Road development began in 2018 and was welcomed by local residents who were keen to see the formerly derelict land put to good use. This replaced a well-known eyesore in Padiham, bringing a mix of much-needed houses, bungalows and apartments to the area, all available for affordable rent.
We have also worked with the nearby Padiham Primary School throughout the development to help ease traffic congestion at the school gates. We funded and created a woodland path, with input from the pupils, to develop a green route to the school for nearby families to use.
We have invested £10,235,647 into the Station Road development, with £2,772,000 of this provided through funding granted by Homes England. We are fully committed to investing in the local community, providing high-quality affordable homes in order to help meet the growing demand and to make a real difference to people’s lives.
The new homes have been welcomes by residents, with Mr and Mrs Rigby saying, “We have just received the keys to our beautiful new apartment in Padiham and want to thank the team at Calico Homes for all the help and assistance they have given us. I know we will be really happy here. Thanks again Calico!”
